Share a list

Collaborate with Tidy members or invite guests through a private link.

Tidy can share one list with another registered member or with anyone who has a private collaboration link. Sharing a list never exposes the other lists or folders around it.

Invite a Tidy member

  1. Open the list and choose Share.
  2. Under People with access, enter an exact email address or @username.
  3. Send the invitation. The recipient can accept or decline it from Tidy on the web or iPhone.

After accepting, the list appears in the recipient's Tidy workspace and stays available offline. Registered collaborators can edit items and groups. The owner keeps control of list visibility, deletion, guest links, and who has access.

If the email address does not belong to a Tidy account, Tidy creates a private edit link instead and emails it when email delivery is available. The link is also shown in the Share sheet so you can send it yourself.

  1. Open the list and choose Share.
  2. Under Guest links, choose what guests can do:
    • View gives read-only access.
    • Edit lets guests add and update items.
    • Suggest sends proposed items to you for approval.
  3. Add an optional label or expiration date on the web, then create the link.
  4. Choose Share to open the system sharing menu. On browsers without a sharing menu, Tidy copies the link instead.

The complete URL is available only when the link is created. Tidy stores a protected fingerprint of the secret rather than the secret itself. If the URL is lost, revoke the old link and create a replacement.

Manage access

Return to Share to see registered collaborators, pending invitations, active links, guests, recent activity, and pending suggestions. Owners can cancel an invitation or remove a collaborator. A collaborator can leave a shared list at any time.

Removing registered access takes effect on the server immediately. A device that is offline removes its cached copy the next time it syncs, while keeping unsynced work available for recovery.

Anyone who has the URL can use the access it grants, so treat an edit link like an invitation. Use a view or suggestion link when direct editing is not necessary.

List visibility is separate from collaboration links. A private list can have a private collaboration link; making a list public is not required.
